5/22/2013 – Updated with new room information.

We will have a special guest, Stephanie Hay, for our May meet up!

How to Write Compelling Content that’s Usable

If you’ve ever wondered, “Why don’t people just read the website / emails?!?,” then this talk is for you. Especially if you’ve got limited resources like Stephanie Hay did while working at two universities, where she learned (often the hard way) how to write more human, helpful content. You’ll walk away psyched, knowing how to:

  • Find (or get) meaningful data from students, parents, alumni, and others
  • Have more pleasant content conversations with entrenched, opinionated department heads
  • Recognize higher-ed content that works — and doesn’t work
  • Write effective, engaging copy that makes people do something like apply, donate, or just come back for more.
